Story
Thank you for visiting my page in memory of my late wife, Kaye. It is here that myself and family kindly ask for donations instead of flowers towards the Ear Nose and Throat Cancer unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital. Please read on for a little bit of my beloved wife’s story and why she chose the ENT for her charity.
My darling wife is the bravest person I will ever know. She fought off cancer a total of four times over the past 16 years. But, in 2022 she was diagnosed with terminal throat cancer. This was one fight she could not win, and yet she continued to fight for the love of her family:
On September 29, 2022, Kaye was finally able to stop fighting and passed away in her sleep.
Throughout the last 16 years Kaye had gone through intense radiotherapy and chemotherapy to overcome cancer. However, in 2011 the cancer returned and half of her tongue had to be removed; she was permanently put on a feeding tube. She was always incredibly grateful to the ENT unit for allowing her to simply continuing living from the operation that they performed to remove the cancer, and work with her many years after providing the most incredible care.
Since her first diagnosis in 2007, Kaye became a passionate advocate for others with throat cancer and a bright light to many going through similar experiences. For this reason my family and I have chosen the ENT unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital as they have supported her for 16 years and now continue to support us as a family as we walk this path.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of Kaye’s story, and for donating in memory of my brave, strong and courageous wife. God bless you all!
