Encouraged by others who have recently completed walks to raise money, it is my intention to walk 2 half marathons in January and February 2018.

I have never been a fitness fanatic and you'll never see me in a gym, but I keep myself reasonably fit by doing a lot of walking, especially at work.

I'm setting a goal of £500, but if that goal is beaten I will be very happy. Money raised will be donated to the South Atlantic Medal Association (1982) in the hope that it will pay for flights to the Falkland Islands for veterans who are unable to fund their own visits. For myself, I visited the Islands (for the first time since 1982) in 2014 and found some peace, the people are wonderful and still very grateful for what the Task Force did for them in 1982, and the scenery and wildlife are amazing.
