Our participation in the Bournemouth 5K Glow Run came about as Caitlin has been asking to raise funds for Home-Start West Dorset since she spent some time in the HSWD office earlier in the year helping Mummy do some exciting highlighting and name label decoration! Soon after that we cheered on runners in a Glow Run and she was desperate to get dressed up and out there with them so we've combined the two and booked ourselves in!

As most of you will know Home-Start West Dorset is a charity I'm passionate about working for and supporting. I work as an Organiser recruiting and training volunteers and matching them up with the families that are referred to us. I see first hand the amazing difference that a reliable regular friendly volunteer can make to a family who may be struggling due to a diverse number of reasons such as isolation, bereavement, multiple birth, mental health or a disability. Family referrals have always outnumbered the volunteers available and every penny raised can make a difference to real local families with children under 5.
