We fund research, awareness and training to increase survival rates of bowel cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page justgiving.com/fundraising/KellysArmies.

We are friends of Kelly Stabb who was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer last January. A recent update in Kelly's journey has left us feeling rather helpless in finding a way to show our love and support to her and her family without intruding on their privacy. So when our friend Marie-Claire Christie set up a social media group it was a great way to express our feelings and exchange ideas on what we could do that would let us show our support whilst giving our friends Kelly, Simon and their family much needed space and time to come to terms with Kelly's diagnosis.

One of the things we have decided to do is a 10K run. It's a real challenge for most of us who unlike Kelly, are just not into running at all. It will be a sight to see!

Our team name 'Kellys Armies' is not only a reference to the fact that she really does have long arms, but that those arms have shown love and support to others always and now we want to put our arms around her and support her charity.

Kelly is a funny, warm hearted, selfless woman who decided that she wanted to give something back by raising funds for Bowel Cancer West and Torbay Hospitals Ricky Grant Unit.

You can read Kelly's story in her own words by visiting www.Justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kellystabb and see the amazing fundraising already done and continuing on her page.

'Kellys Armies' will start some serious training now and will be running the Pennywell Persuits 10K run in May 2018. With most of us in Devon and some from Essex, we will endeavour to keep you updated with some pics of our training and of course the event itself. We hope our page will bring you some smiles and most of all it will raise funds for BCW and highten awareness of Bowel Cancer.

Sharing is caring. Thank you in advance for your support.
