Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you will know my Dad passed away from Colon Cancer on the 19th February 2013.
Prior to his death he had spent a number of weeks in the Woking Hospice. The care that he received was second to none. In his own words 'this is better than private'.
His wish was to die at home and with the help and support of the Hospice and a number of other charities linked with the Hospice we were able to achieve this.
When visiting my Dad in the Hospice I said that I would do something to raise some money for them as a way of thanking them for all the support they offered to my Dad and us as a family.
Following my Dad's death the Hospice provided bearevement counselling to my family which was invaluale in helping us come to terms with his death. This service is provided by volunteers who give up their time for free to help patients and family members.
I applied to the Hospice for one of their London Marathron places and felt very fortunate when I was successful.
All the work with the Hospice is all funded from fundraising activities such as the London Marathon.
Please give a little so the Hospice are able to give a lot to the patients and families within their care.
Thank you again for your time in reading my page
To my Dad 'this ones for you'
