The British Heart Foundation fund pioneering research into the treatment of congenital heart defects in babies and young children; as many of you will already know, I wouldn't have made it to 30 if it wasn't for this. In order to show some small measure of gratitude I have therefore decided to forego having a 30th birthday in favour of dragging my sister up and down mountains in the name of charity... as you can tell by the picture she's absolutely thrilled!

On September 16th we will be (attempting) to climb Scafell Pike - England, Ben Nevis - Scotland and Mt. Snowdon - Wales within 24 hours, but we're in need of some motivation! As such, all I'm asking is that if you were planning on sending me a birthday card, getting me a beer or buying me a new car (mum?) you instead donate the money to this page in the hope that more babies with heart conditions can one day walk up mountains ;)
