We decided at the beginning of this milestone year that we would do something to raise money for charity. Little did I realise that this was going to involve us walking 299 kilometres, but where there’s a will there’s a way!! On the 19^th September we will start walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal path and will hopefully finish by the 3^rd October. It will be a personal physical challenge for me & a mental one for Martin - just to keep me going all that way!! The Pembrokeshire Coast Path website says “In its entirety the Coast Path represents a formidable physical challenge – it’s 35,000 feet of ascent and decent is said to be the equivalent to climbing Everest”, goodness we must be going mad in our old age!

In doing this we are hoping to raise as much as we possibly can for two charities, they are Cancer Research a very worthwhile cause which you will all have heard of and for whom Martin has raised funds for over the past twenty years, we are also raising funds for the local village Warmer Welcome Appeal which is to help restore and maintain our beautiful thousand year old church here in Tackley.

Having never done anything like this before it would be great if you could dig deep into your pockets and make our poor sore feet realise that it’s all been worth it!! Thanking you in advance for your generosity. Also a very big thank you to my parents who have undertaken to help out by feeding us at the end of each day and driving us to the start of each day’s hike.
