Story
Going to school and gaining an education is a rite of passage so many of us take for granted. For children in Malawi though this right is instead a privilege.
Only 35 percent of children in Malawi complete primary school. This is due to a variety of factors including lack of school buildings, resources and teachers. The teacher to student ratio is 1:130, due to lack of space and staff.
Experts believe that education is the driving force to alleviating poverty in Malawi and that it can help the country move toward development.
I am going to Malawi in July with a group of council workers to build a school and train teaching staff to allow Malawi to further expand their education plans and allow more young people to gain an education and allow them the power to escape from poverty.
No donation is too small and every penny counts towards this fantastic cause.
