How do you fancy camping out for charity?
You are invited to take part in an event for Taunton's local homelessness charity 'Arc.' In the past they have organised a 'sleep out' in town for people to experience homelessness for a night. That won't be possible this year, so they are asking us to participate in a 'Virtual Sleep Out' instead.
The 'Virtual Big Sleep Out' will be happening on Friday 19th June. The idea is that you give a donation/get sponsored to sleep in your own outdoor space for the night. Alternatively, those who cannot use their garden could set up camp in a different room… a dining room, kitchen, bathroom… you name it.
How does it work?
Participants will still sleep out but this time, sleeping out in your own outdoor space – a garden, shed, garage or even a den in your dining room if you don't have anywhere outside (see FAQs on their website).
Set up camp with sleeping bags, roll mats and a tent if you like. Once signed up, you will receive instructions of how to join their live stream, and where they will be providing entertainment during the evening. Arc will ask you to send photos of your set ups and will check in with you the next morning to see how you got on!
