Story

Hi all,

The above lads from the Linlithgow & District Tartan Army have signed up to walk 26 miles from Hampden to Loch Lomond  to raise money in the Tartan Army Childrens Charity Kiltwalk on Sunday 18th April (not the 25th as mentioned above - computer fault) (http://www.tartanarmychildrenscharity.org.uk/kiltwalk/).

Some information on the TACC is below, however as a summary the TACCs aim is to help disadvantaged children in Scotland and in areas we visit when on our travels supporting the national team.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated, we're going for a "Two Quid for a Kid", to emphisise no amount is too little and if we can get 400 people to donate £2 it could make a big difference to someones life. Feel free to donate more if you fancy.

Thanks for reading.

Bit of information on the TACC: -

http://www.tartanarmychildrenscharity.org.uk/cms/index.php

TACC is a registered Scottish charity (reg. SC038330) run by Scotland supporters.

Our aim is to help disadvantaged children in Scotland and in countries that we visit whilst supporting Scotland’s national football team.

Since 2006 we have donated nearly £40,000 to disabled, blind and street children in Ukraine, Georgia and Macedonia, and £60,000 has been raised during the recent qualifiying campaign to be donated in South Africa during the 2010 World Cup Finals.

Our first project helping Scottish children took place in March 2008 when we took 12 children supported by Barnardos to their first Scotland match ( see My first Scotland match ). Since then we have taken disadvantaged children from around Scotland to every Scotland home match. We also have a partnership with Aberlour Child Care Trust - taking their children to Scotland matches and organising the Christmas Present Appeal for them.

On our trips abroad we make cash donations and other gifts to children's institutions (orphanages, hospitals, special needs schools) or individual children in those countries according to their needs. Cash donations buy items such as clothes, shoes, blankets, beds, educational equipment, medical equipment etc, or help fund projects or repairs.
