Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In September Vik, Campbell and Martyn will all be running the BUPA Great North Run in aid of the charity "MAG" (Mines Advisory Group). We have all been training furoiously and plan to up this as we enter into the summer months. We are targetting various times for the half marathon between 1 hr 30 mins and 2 hours. Given our sub-optimal office location, we all have a good excuse to get the trainers out in the morning for the journey into work, and Martyn has been doing just this on a regular basis for around a year now. We will all see how our training goes during the summer to see whether any of us get more aggressive on targets!

We thought it best to host a joint page given that we are all running for the same charity, MAG. This of course means that nobody at LMAX now has any excuse for not contributing as there will surely be someone you can support!

MAG is a great charity - a neutral and impartial humanitarian organisation that clears the remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide. MAG work in current and former conflict zones, to reduce the threat of death and injury from remnants of conflict. They have worked in 35 countries since 1989 and currently have operations in Angola, Burundi, Cambodia, Chad, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Gaza, Iraq, Lao P.D.R., Lebanon, Rwanda, Puntland State of SomaliaSri Lanka, Sudan and VietnamMore information about the charity is available on their website:

About the charity

Every single day, 15 people are killed or injured because of landmines and other explosive weapons. Half of all civilian casualties are children. MAG finds and destroys these weapons to save lives and rebuild futures; helping people to grow crops, attend school and build homes.
