Story

WE'VE DONE IT!

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED US ACHIEVE OUR GOAL. ALL THE (VERY) HARD WORK WAS WORTH IT.

It was certainly tough, but a great feeling knowing that we completed the challenge and raised so much for a worthy cause.

Hello! Thank you for visiting our Donation Page!

Yes, it is true, we are going to run the London Marathon...well, at least try. We are running in aid of the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

This was an was an easy decision for us to make as a close friend (of Rob’s) has suffered from congenital glaucoma, which is inherited from birth, but can often go undetected till late in life. It affects 1% of over 60’s and is the second leading cause of blindness...but Jono lost his sight just prior his 18th Birthday.

However, being the type of person not to let anything stand in his way, Jono now attends the Royal National College for the Blind and also teaches other students at the college. He is being coached in football to represent England, and has even climbed Ben Nevis, which I know some of us would find difficult at the best of times. He is a true inspiration for how to overcome personal challenges in life.

So, please help us raise £3,000 for the RNIB to help them help others like Jono.

About the charity

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.
