Thanks for taking time to visit our JustGiving page. At Dance4 we're collecting sponsorship money to support our work with young disabled dancers. Last year we commissioned some research into the provision that currently exists for young dancers with disabilities in the dance industry. Possibly unsurprisingly this research found current provision lacking, but made sensible suggestions as to how we might go about addressing issues of opportunity, access and career progression for dancers. So we started lots of conversations and Dance4 continues to hold public debates, symposiums and workshops to foster networks and relationships, share knowledge, expertise, best practice and experience. I think this work is truly inspiring and has genuinely made a difference, not just to the young dancers but also dance teachers, audiences, venues and organisations.

The impact of the Paralympic Games was significant and went some way into expanding young disabled people's ideas about the range of future opportunities available to them. However the amount of opportunities existing currently for these young people has not risen relative to the growth in aspirations. There is still much work to be done.  The Dance4 team are running to raise awareness of this work, and to raise some money that can be used just for this programme. 

So after months of training, comparing notes, figuring out how to lose a stitch, we're as ready as we're going to be to raise money for a cause that's very important to us here at Dance4. The money raised by us will go towards continuing and extending this work, with a particular focus in encouraging and supporting young dancers to get involved in the celebrated national U.Dance platforms.  Your donation will help us do this, we've set ourselves a target of £2k, please help us reach it!
