Story

“The lives of Congolese women are significant. The lives of Congolese children are precious. They have waited far too long. They are worth our effort. We are running to help. “

I have signed up for a 10k charity run called Run for Congo on the 3rd of July and I am looking for people to sponsor me. Yes, you are reading correctly, I’m running 10k! Most of you know that I am not a sports person at all (I have blamed my flat foot for that all my life!) but this extraordinary cause has made a big impact on me!

The run benefits women in Congo who have suffered immensely from the ongoing conflict. Every day women are raped, tortured, and killed. The money from this run will support Women for Women International’s Congo programmes which provide financial aid, job training, rights awareness, and leadership education.

I’ve set a goal of £450, which could put 3 women through a vocational skills training that will enable them to sustain an income and support their families.

Please help me reach my goal of £450 by giving whatever you can. No amount is too big or too small!  Ignis with their Fund Matching Scheme will match your donations up to £500, so your contribution will count even more!!

And of course would love to see you in Regent’s park on the 3rd of July (weather permitting)! It would be a fantastic day out!!

Thank you very much for reading this and for supporting me!
