Story
My very dear friends Richard and Zoe Goodacre lost their beautiful baby son at just 5 months old. His last few weeks were spent at Great Ormond Street Hospital where the team there did everything they could to help him and support his family through the terrible time they were going through.
Here are Richard's own words:
'Our ‘ikkle’ man, Stanley, was born 21st June 2010 and was only 5 months old when we lost him. He was our first child. In the short time that we were together as a family, we can honestly say it was the first time in our lives that we felt complete and to suddenly lose him utterly destroyed us.
We set up a Just Giving page in aide of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital for people to donate to rather than arrange flowers for his funeral. 7 weeks after Stanley’s death the total amount raised on the website stood at over £12k! Stanley spent his final three weeks in Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Intensive Care Unit and we witnessed first hand the amazing work that they perform everyday. We were overwhelmed with not just the professionalism of the many nurses, doctors and consultants treating Stanley, but the emotional support that they also offered to Zoe and myself. GOSH, is an NHS hospital but they could not function as they do without public and corporate donations.'
I think you will agree this is a very worthy cause, so pease help me support this amazing team of people in memory of this very special little boy.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
