Story
On 31st October, I will be attempting to do what Paula Radcliffe couldn't... I will be running (and hopefully finishing!) the Athens Marathon. But in order to do this, I need your help to motivate me to the finishing line.
I have chosen to run my first ever marathon for Treetops Hospice. This charity has inspired me to begin running to raise money for them after unfortunately having to see the brilliant work that they do first hand. They are a small local charity covering the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire areas, taking care of adults with life limiting illnesses and supporting their carers and families too.
To find out more information about this charity, you can log on to their website http://www.treetopshospice.org.uk or you can ask me about it.
I would like to reassure you that any money you do give will be going straight to the charity (minus a small fee that justgiving charges). I have paid for my own flights, accommodation and race entry. Don't worry, you are not paying for me to have a 'holiday' of any kind.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I realise that there are a lot of people asking for sponsorship at the moment and I also realise that most of us are skint. Any donation will be appreciated, even a pound or two. It all adds up.
I am a bit of a numbers geek as we all know, hence me forcing myself to run 26.2 miles when I am roughly 26.2 years of age... So, if I could manage to raise £262 I would be a very happy geek :)
Thank you for your support with this.
