Story

Dear family & friends,

We are very excited to be taking part in the Bnei Mitzvah Charity Challenge from 23rd-25th July 2021 where we will be climbing two peaks in the Lake District in support of The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Two years ago we discovered Leah has Scoliosis which means her spine is shaped like an S. It has been a tough couple of years, where Leah had to wear a back brace from just below her shoulders to her hips, 23 hours a day for 18 months. Scans and X-rays have been a crucial part of Leah's care as the curvature can worsen very quickly. So instead of X-rays Leah has had regular EOS scans which use far lower doses of radiation and which will significantly reduce the risks associated with radiation exposure. The RNOH does not yet have an EOS scanner, so they have been referring Leah privately. RNOH have nearly raised £575,000 to buy their first EOS scanner, they have £25,000 to go. We hope the money raised through this challenge will help RNOH raise the last essential funds they need to buy their own EOS scanner and help more young people like Leah.

Thanks so much for your support and love,

Leah & Emily xxx
