Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are running the Edinburgh half marathon in the memory of my Dad David Stanford. For those who knew my Dad will understand the struggles he went through everyday with his mental health problems. He had support from the community, one particular thing that really helped him was someone taking him to watch the Swans football team play. This was one of my Dads much loved hobbies and really helped him through very difficult days. Mental health support within the community helps people and families in similar situations improve their day to day lives. This can be help in the home, someone to take you shopping, a friendly face to talk to or support getting back into work. There isn't enough community mental health care support, so anything that charities like Gofal can do to help is very much appreciated and needed.
James and I would like to raise money for Gofal, a mental health charity based in Wales. We have decided to direct our fundraising to the Swansea crisis fund.
