Darren Watkins, sadly passed away in 2019 after a battle with cancer. Darren was a great friend who was an inspiration to all those around him on his outlook to life in general, which shone through in his darkest time after being diagnosed.
His eternally positive spirit and never give in attitude was evident right up until the end when, with only months left to live, he was still taking part in up to 70 mile rides. His goal was to complete the London to Paris ride with his closest mates and parents as support.
Sadly, in the last 6 or so weeks of his life, he took a turn for the worse, but he still held up hope. It was during the latter stages that Darren was greatly helped by Saint Francis hospice, whose support for him was invaluable, the gratitude for which he shared with his friends.
Darren insisted that, if he couldn't take part himself to make sure that we all complete the challenge in his memory and for a cause he would be fully supportive of, so here we are today!
We will be riding the 300 mile course from London to Paris via Dover over 4 days, from the 21st March until the 24th March, arriving at the Eiffel Tower on Darren's birthday, and sharing this with his Family.
Thank you for your support for this invaluable cause.
