We fund cancer appeals on Merseyside to improve the lives of cancer patients

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February our family received some devastating news when I was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer which spread to my lymph nodes. Treatment started pretty much straight away; mastectomy, IVF to preserve my eggs and chemotherapy. I am now at the penultimate stage of treatment with just radio therapy to go.

I am so thankful to the Marina Dalglish Appeal (MDA) for all they have put in place to make this journey a lot less scary. The morning after my operation I went upto the Marina Dalish retreat in Aintree Hospital; I felt as though I was having private health care. I had a little pamper, including reflexology and reki and met some lovely ladies (who have been through the breast cancer journey). With only being young (29) This really helped me come to terms with the operation I had just had.

The MDA have also funded to have a Clatterbridge centre at Ainteee hospital so I didn't have to travel far to have chemotherapy or radio therapy.

This charity is just amazing and I really don't know how I would have coped without them.

The money raised will go towards their new centre. Patients can be referred by the the hospital to the new centre, which is away from the hospital environment providing a relaxing atmosphere where woman can receive many treatments such as, manicures, pedicures, relaxation room, support groups and much more.
