Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to be taking part in the 2023 Dublin City Marathon ( 42km/26miles) on Sunday 29th October.

I am taking this challenge on to help raise funds to support Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, a great charity who support individuals and their families recovering from the impacts of brain injury by offering much needed services and tools that help them rehabilitate, adapt and lives their fullest lives.  I personally know one family currently using the services so I would be delighted to raise any amount to help.

I am especially doing this though in memory of my dear friend, Bobbie Connolly.  Bobbie and her family availed of the services of this charity.  She was an absolute inspiration and even though she was met with many challenges, she navigated through them with her well known grit and determination and so I want to take this challenge on in her memory.

I have only ever taken part in the Dublin Marathon once, way back in 2010, so this will be an enormous challenge for me especially in terms of the training required but I have started and I hope to finish the marathon in whatever way and whatever time I can on the day!

So, any support is hugely appreciated!
