Story
Hi everyone
I am running the Bristol Half Marathon on , in order to raise money for The Born Free Foundation.
Many of you will be aware of the Born Free foundation through feature films and the story of "Christian", the lion cub that was bought from the Harrods department store in and returned to the wilds of .
I was inspired by the story of Christian and the amazing work the foundation does for endangered species throughout the world. As an animal lover, I have a particular fondness for big cats, especially the Tiger.
One of the many appeals your donation will help towards is "Save The Tiger". The Born Free Foundation works tirelessly to try to help preserve this fantastic creature from poacher’s guns, snares and poison.
Did you know in the year 1900, there were around 100,000 wild tigers roaming the earth. In 2010, there are less than 3,500 tigers in the wild and they are classed at high risk of extinction. How tragic would it be in our lifetime to see the extinction of the tiger, one of the most beautiful and majestic creatures to ever grace our planet. They are not alone, hundreds of species of animals are exploited and abused at the hands of man.
Your donation, no matter what amount can aid these creatures and reduce the suffering caused to them. I am hoping to raise at least £166, as this will fund an anti poaching patrol for tigers in the wild.
The Born Free Foundation is very dear to my heart and any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Lew
