Story
I am a local lad born and raised in The Black Country and a lifelong Baggies fan. From the early nineties where I would stand with my Dad stewarding the gates of the old Halford's lane supporters club, to now being in lockdown, screaming the team on from behind the TV.
Following this club has creating all sorts of lasting memories, none other than last year, when I was invited to illustrate the Albion News covers, which culminated in a promotion win. I continue to work with the club on various illustrations, and since being involved I have begun to learn more and more about the wonder that is the Albion Foundation.
The charity partner of WBA is the beating heart for so many in our community and a light at the end of the tunnel for others. As well as using football to inspire to achieve, the foundation is deployed across countless schools in the borough, helping children with their wellbeing and education. Not only that but they put on knife crime workshops and after hours football events to get kids off the street and out of dangerous situations. There are also 32 teams representing the WBA badge, including an ampu team, blind team, wheelchair team and visually impaired team.
The Foundation can be the start of a new life for those in desperate need and without them and their continued strides towards positivity, then many children may not find a way forward.
Therefore I wish to give something back and do what I can to give these children the opportunity at something greater and the platform to go on and life a happy and fulfilling life.
Throughout the coming months prior to our Mountain Climb I will be producing and auctioning Limited Edition Player Signed illustrations, as well as player signed shirts. I will also be taking part in numerous WBA related activities (covid dependent) to continue to stride towards our target.
Help us give something back. Anything donation is greatly appreciate.
Thank you. Liam.
