Story

Last year I ran 10 marathons in 10 days - and whilst I’ve been itching to take on another challenge I have also been mindful of what it took out of me and the need to recover properly.

Although I have done lots marathons I have always said I would never do an ultra. So I have no idea why I am doing this really!! It scares me way more than the 10 in 10 as I am really rubbish after about 16 miles and just about manage to hang on for the last 10 miles of the marathon. I have a feeling this is going to be a case of a couple of hours of me smiling and having a great time followed by several hours of pain and suffering- which must be worth a donation or two!!

Even though I regularly run marathons I dont actually do that much training. I have started reading around the subject and apparently it is not advisable to do this for a 50 mile run and apparently I really need to put some decent training in! So I’ve now started my training plan and I intend to try to eat well, get enough sleep and cut out the alcohol in the build up! I’m taking this very seriously and will be giving it my absolute best effort.

It would be fantastic if my suffering can be made worthwhile by raising some money for this fantastic local charity! Please donate if you can xx

About the charity

The Laila Milly Foundation was set up in 2010 by Maya & Steve McCormack after their daughter Laila was born with a rare neurological condition. Sadly Laila passed away a day before her 1st birthday. They set up a day respite centre in West Yorkshire to provide care for disabled children aged 0-5.
