The Yard is an great place for children with additional needs and their families to go to play and just be themselves. It is quite difficult to take Finlay to mainstream play areas as he can be unpredictable, causing havoc in his wake!  The Yard is a safe place for Finlay and everyone around him!

It is an amazing space with two huge swings (one adapted for wheelchairs), outdoor and indoor climbing areas, a sensory room, an art room, a big kitchen which was provided by ‘The Big Build’ tv programme, (one of the best episodes ever) a huge sandpit etc. Most importantly are the extraordinary staff who help and allow families to have a bit of breathing space to play rather than just manage.

It has been a wonderful safe haven in Edinburgh for Hannah and Simon to take Finlay and somewhere that Josephine can also enjoy at the same time.
