Story
Lisa, Debbie and Natalie are swimming the English Channel in an all female relay team, in August 2014, raising money for Breast Cancer research.
The Channel may "only" be 21 miles across, but time and tide wait for no (wo)man and on the day we anticipate that the total distance we will have to cover will be much, much further (as the tide pushes swimmers off course). We will swim through night and day, jellyfish and busy shipping lanes and expect chilly 14-16 degree Celsius water.
Gertrude Ederle was the first woman to swim the Channel in 1926, in a time of 14 hours and 34 minutes, smashing the male record by a full 2 hours. We will follow in her wake and raise money for an illness that affects 1 in 8 women in the UK.
Thank you for your support.
Love Lise, Debs and Nat.
