Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. It gives me great pleasure to raise funds with my fellow Cisco colleagues for a worthy cause to support working class youngsters build skills and ambition to achieve their potential in life.

Lake District 10 peak challenge in one day!

• 22 km trekking distance (this is a tough one for me!)
• 1600 m of ascent (dizzy)
• 10 - 12 hrs (tyred just thinking about my poor feet)
• 10 summits (wow)

1. Birks 662 m
2. St Sunday Crag 841 m
3. Fairfield 873 m
4. Seat Sandal 736 m
5. Dollywagon Pike 858 m
6. High Crag 884 m
7. Neathermost Pike 891
8. Helvellyn 949 m
9. Whiteside 863 m
10. Raise 883 m

An early start to the day, the ascent will be upon us quickly but once we are on top of the first summit, the rest follow in quick  succession with ascents and decent of around 200 m between each one, once we reach our highest point, Helvellyn, we will have amazing views of Red Tarn below, Swirral and Striding Edges to the left and right. From Helvellyn we have two summits left to go before our walk back down.

How your money will help:  RECLAIM nurtures talent that may be otherwise be hidden. We have the same high expectations of working class young people’s leadership potential as we do of those who attend public schools. Teenagers in working class communities have huge potential, but face extra barriers to developing the skills and networks to becoming successful leaders which RECLAIM works with to build confidence and skills.

Since I've come to RECLAIM, I've realised that actually I could be something, and help other people. No matter what background you've got you can always achieve and you can always progress” Salford Boys particpant, 2015

We enable young people to believe in themselves. We see young people develop a strong sense of social justice and empathy: overcoming personal hurdles can often instill in a young person the grit and determination to succeed personally, but can also motivate them to ensure that society makes the positive changes to better support the next generation.
