I am raising money for Cystic Fybrosis in support for a very dear friend of mine.

Audrey was diagnosed with CF at 9 months of age after contracting pneumonia. Despite this the first 30 years were kind with few complications. This last 10 years have been much harder with frequent courses of intravenous antibiotics, up to 50 pills a day, nebulised antibiotics, physiotherapy and daily insulin injections due to diabetes. In 2004 Audrey was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and shortly after giving birth to her son underwent a liver transplant. She now adds immunosuppressants to her medication. Last year she was medically retired from her job of 23 years to the civil service.

I have known Audrey since primary school. I have never once heard her complain. She does so much for so many different charities, she works hard raising awareness for organ donation and helps support others with CF.

Audrey truly is a phenomenal person.
