We Raise Funds For Children With Cancer to Create Life Memories

Story

Hi my name is Lisa Vint aka Vinty and I will be taking part in a variety of activities in Peter Vint’s memory and also my friend Nettie (Jeannette Rowe)… Mostly these are to raise funds for the Owen McVeigh Foundation. Please sponsor me and support this great cause.

I initially set this page up after the death of my husband Peter Vint who died by suicide on the 26th April 2017. I have left the page open to continue fundraising as I take on many trials and tribulations in his memory.

Peter was my right arm and after 33 years together whilst his death has come as such a shock, I wanted to make sure some good can come from it. Donating to Owen McVeigh Foundation will also enable family and friends to support a worth while cause. Their  aim is to help enrich children's lives in the local area who are ill and to support them and their families.

They did a lot of charity fundraising at David Lloyd gym,  Peter's second home. But also signifies the memory of a young lad who was a mad Liverpool fan. In addition their aim to enrich the lives of children was something Peter tried to do as a foster carer. But also for our children and grand children alongside those that knew him.…

I have raised money for various charities including the Owen McVeigh Foundation, SOBS (survivors of bereavement by suicide), Flourish and succeed CIC and Andy’s Man Club.  This has been to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention in Peter’s memory.

Peter’s name has also been added to the launch a memory all weather lifeboats Shannon class on each occasion currently up-to five … these will be stationed at various lifeboat stations across the uk currently Invergorden, Clifton, Wells and Whitby with the next for Anstruther, due to ready in September …

I have taken part in many activities including: Santa dashes, pretty mudder race for life, Wirral costal walks,  the Hillsborough memorial walk, Yorkshire 3 peaks (not on the same day) , Snowdon, Scafell, Ben Nevis via the arête ,  helvellyn, Tryfan, Cadair Idris, amongst many other various mountains, hills and walks including parts of offa’s dyke path and 21 miles Crosby to Southport walk.  I have also completed abseils down the Liverpool cathedral, trekked to Everest base camp and ventured to Peru and Bolivia completing a trek to Machu Picchu all in Peter’s memory.  More recently I have undertake memory walks for Nettie, 5K Glow walk, 5K run for the 97 (although it was more a jog/walk) and the big jump sky dive in April 2023 for the foundation, which I intend to repeat in 2024.

For Nettie, we had completed an initial fundraising walk pre covid in July 2019, during the early stages of her fight against cancer to support  funding her alternative treatment and more recently a few memory walks following  the same route..  we intend to complete another Memory walk for Nettie in July 2023 …

Who knows what’s in line as my next challenge I’m just flowing with life and making it an adventure ….. life is too short and before we know it, we have lost those close to us too soon. we have to keep moving forward but do so in a way that celebrates the life of those we’ve lost keeping  their memories alive .. don’t let the struggles of life take over , you are worth much more than that and loved by those around you.   do not fear the unknown , be brave as you have the strength within to achieve …Nothing is impossible when I’m possible …  as beyond fear lies freedom

i would like to say a big thank your to all who have supported me on my journey and who donate to my pages and the various things I do… ..

An important message I would like to share is that its okay not to be okay, it’s good to talk, to say how you feel. People will listen they want to hear.  Don't feel afraid or alone, I am here for you too.  You are loved and you matter.

Sending you love, take care, stay safe and keep safe xx

MY NEXT CHALLENGE THE HIGHLAND WAY BEGINNING 25TH JUNE where I’ll be stomping Scotland from just outside Glasgow up to Fort William … 🙌

The abseiling down the Anglican cathedral was completed on the 10th July 2021 with over £1000 raised for the Owen McVeigh foundation ….. A further abseil was undertake again on the 23rd July 2022 ….

Everest base Camp trek was completed between 3rd and 21st March (trek being 6th-18th) … donations for this were to raise funds for Andy’s Man Club on a separate go fund page … https://gofund.me/c3b161b0. approx £3000 has been raised so far

Memory Walks for Nettie is a £10 donation to take part … approx 15 miles and various pubs along the way across parts of the Wirral Peninsula between West Kirby and New Brighton … all are welcome to take part (keep an eye out for updates on social media) and funds raised go to the foundation … every little helps xx

The big jump sky dive raised over £1000 plus gift aid in Nettie and Peter’s memory … vital funds for the foundation alongside Alder Hey …
