We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing a Tandem Skydive to raise money for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity. The Skydive is taking place on Wednesday 08th Septeber 2010 (the day after my birthday!) at Headcorn Airfield. All donations are very welcome as I need to raise a minimum of £400.00. So as a suggestion, instead of giving me a birthday present, please donate to the Hearing Dogs instead.

Nearly nine million of the UK population experience some degree of hearing loss. That's one person in every seven. Over 650,000 of these people could benefit from a hearing dog.

For more information on hearing dogs please go to www.hearingdogs.org.uk

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Update 08/09/10

Unfortunately the jump was cancelled today due to the bad weather - as soon as we are able to re-book we will let you know the new date (which will be in the next 3 months). In the meantime please continue to donate to this good cause - Thank you.

Update - The jump eventually took place on Thursday 16 September after being cancelled twice and what can I say how amazing! Thanks to everyone who donated and don't forget there is still time to give more......!

About the charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.
