COMMUNITY CHALLENGE

Save the Children is Reckitt Benckiser's global charity partner and since 2003 we have raised over £4 million to save children's lives.

I have been lucky enough to have been selected to take part in the third Reckitt Benckiser Global Challenge 2011 for Save the Children.

From 4 June – 12 June 2011, myself and 30 staff from Reckitt Benckiser will take on hard physical labour in the heat to renovate two crèches in Petrolina, Brazil. They are used by young vulnerable children for education and play. Many of the families work in agriculture so the crèches provide a safe haven for these young children in a particularly poor, deprived area of Brazil. We will be making the crèches much brighter, cleaner spaces both inside and out by painting, repairing restrooms, kitchen walls and floors and planting trees, improving recreational areas and playgrounds.

This is an exciting, hugely rewarding and unique experience for me and my colleagues to help vulnerable children in Brazil desperate for support and education.
