We fund research into muscle-wasting to improve the lives of everyone affected.
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Webpage. On 20th September I will be running the Great North Run, a total of 13 miles (plus a bit more)! Those of you who know me well, know that I am not naturally sporty but I have been training and I am determined to finish.I will be running to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, who is the UK’s leading charity focusing on all muscle disease. Muscular Dystrophy affects more than 60,000 babies, children and adults in the UK alone. The disease causes muscles to gradually weaken and waste over time, there are no cures and many affected children don’t live to reach adulthood. The Charity focus on raising money to fund research into finding the causes and cures of the disease, as well as offering practical and emotional support to suffers and their families. This charity is personal to me and my family as my cousin Deryck Pile unfortunately lost his life to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy just before his 18th birthday. So, if you do make a donation to this worthwhile cause, the charity and I will be very grateful. Many ThanksLiz
