‘8 Men of Logistex’ … 2 Teams… 3 Days… 510 Miles… 39,000ft Up… 39,000ft down… and more lycra than Lady Gaga… BUT… for 2 GOOD REASONS…
4 Years ago…A colleague and friend Neil Burton was suddenly struck down by a combination of rare conditions (Transverse Myelitis & Guillain Barre Syndrome) attacking his nervous system and leaving the gentle giant paralysed and confined to a wheelchair.
Now… Supported by 24 hour care from the NHS and breathing through a ventilator, Neil's drive and determination, coupled with speech recognition software has allowed him to return to his valuable role in IT Support. Furthermore, he fulfils this role by attending the office despite his paralysis.
While Neil is battling the pain and obvious frustrations faced on a daily basis he longs to be able to hug and play with his three wonderful children which he adores.
Neil’s one hope for some improvement in his condition comes from leading edge stem cell research being developed outside of the facilities of the NHS. For that he needs to travel abroad and fund the treatment himself.
The ‘8 Men of Logistex’ are determined to help Neil towards his target by completing the gruelling 510 miles and 39,000ft of the Côte-d’Or Challenge 2013
Please dig deep and help us to get Neil closer to getting the treatment he so greatly needs to once again let him hug his children…

In Addition…The team are also raising money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. With over 220,000 patient visits every year, raising money enables the hospital to provide world class care and to pioneer new treatments and cures for childhood illnesses and support to young patients and their families.
