We are volunteers on call 24/7 all year to preserve life and prevent disability.
Story
I've been Secretary to the Supporters' Club of Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team for 6 years now. I've seen how generous (and energetic) some of our supporters can be and thought it was about time that I raised some money too. Toubkal in September 2010 was a fantastic experience – the dramatic difference of temperature from the heat in Marrakech to the snow on the tops was weird. in September 2011 will be even more of a challenge. It's another 1700 metres (about 5 500 feet) of climbing so the altitude impact will be greater and I know I've got to spend the coming months keeping fit and preparing. I'd like to raise at least £1000 if I can - that's only a small percentage of the £45 000 or so that it takes to run Patterdale MRT for a year! Whatever you can contribute, it's going to a great cause - thank you.
One of the busiest search and rescue teams in England, resourced entirely of volunteers, who are available and on call for 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
