We provide therapeutic community music to disabled and disadvantaged people

Story

My dad and I have decided to run the Great North Run again in memory of Tom. We are asking for donations to go towards The Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust who have been hit hard throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Annie herself visited Tom to play the harp to him when he was ill, she even came to the hospice where he said his final goodbyes. Not only did Annie continue to help support Tom and my family she also decided to name a room after him in their fantastic Music Centre in Penrith.

The Music Trust provides projects to severely disadvantaged and disabled people in Cumbria to improve their quality of life and self-esteem through the creative freedom of music. They provide Community Music to children and adults with a wide range of disabilities and complex medical needs including physical disabilities and mental health problems, Alzheimers and senile dementia, cerebral palsy, autism, Down’s Syndrome, sensory impairments, emotional and behavioural disturbance and profound multiple disabilities.

All donations are greatly appreciated by myself, my family and all those within the music trust and community.
