Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Friday 31st October my brother William was riding his bicycle and was in a collision with a van. He was taken to Southmead hospital Intensive Care Unit with severe chest and head injuries. There they cared for him and ultimately saved his life.
Over 12 days Will was kept alive in some state of controlled coma with 20 wires coming in and out of his body. He was hooked up to beeping machines breathing for him, controlling and monitoring his vital signs. It was truly terrible to see. When the doctors thought he was ready and after a tracheotomy , gradually, he was brought out of sedation & back to the living world. Since then he's improved , he can talk and eat now. .....Rehabilitation to normality may be a long and bumpy road but the first signs give us all great hope.
The event was a massive shock to Will's whole family , all his friends and colleagues.
I've created this page to give everyone who knows about Will's fight for life, an opportunity to say an enormous , massive , thank you to all the staff of Southmead ICU .
Your dedication and passion has kept a very special person in this wonderful world. You're wonderful too.
Thanks so much ICU & thanks to everyone who makes a donation. It will help ICU to continue providing this care for more people who need it .
