I have lost friends to cancer and been touched by cancer myself at 17, raised money over the years with my Aerobics friends doing Aerobathons and various parties/functions. But last year I lost my cousin Julie who was only 18 months older than me. This seemed very unjust as she was so fun loving and happy. Out of all the people I know Julies death has affected me very deeply. Julie put up a valiant fight with lung and then brain cancer and died at home with all her family around her on the 3rd January 2009.

Consequently, I have decided to challenge myself by climbing Killimanjaro starting on the 19th June 2010 in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I will be climbing with Julies Husband Bill Beach, Friends Michaela Norton and Deborah Slater.

Please give generously as its 1 in 3 of us who are affected by this awful illness.
