This chosen charity is one that Charlotte supported and cared passionately about.

Although she did not have a support dog herself, Charlotte spent a large part of her free time training her own border collie Leia to support her in simple day- day tasks.  Leia was Charlotte's soulmate and they were inseparable.  Charlotte devoted endless hours to teaching Leia the names of individual objects in order that she would pick these up or bring them to her if she needed them or dropped something.  Leia was Charlotte's constant companion, always by her side and they had a bond and understanding that was truly remarkable.

Charlotte would have loved to have had Leia trained by Support Dogs and made enquiries about this but because of their closeness could not bear to be parted  from  her so that she could undergo the training programme. 

She then decided to embark on her own personal challenge of training Leia herself.
