I'm running on behalf of NeuroMuscular Centre, based in Winsford. My grandad suffered from a form of muscular dystrophy for over 20 years and through the care of NMC he was able to keep mobile without resorting to a wheelchair for many more years than expected. Sadly he died in March 2007 but our family are still very grateful for the care, support and friendship he and my grandma received from everyone at NMC.

The NMC physiotherapy service provides ongoing treatment where the NHS does not, and is staffed largely by people with neuromuscular conditions themselves. Check out their website for more details: http://www.nmcentre.com

I ran a half marathon last year and was completely unprepared - hopefully I've given myself enough time to get ready for this one. It's on the BBC you know.
