Story
Thank you for visiting my page, you reading the below and me running a wee bit has the potential to rescue a child from a really tough life .... (as a parent I can’t bear imagining)....so much gained... please read on:
We got off the plane in Kathmandu I was struck by two thoughts; how kind the people I met were and how beautiful the woman riding side-saddle on the scooter were in their traditional dress, whizzing through the streets.
On our trip we hiked to Annapurna base camp (ABC). We took sweets with us as suggested by a friend. Not for us, for the lovely happy children who came out to meet us as we walked on the 8 day hike.
Unfortunately not all children in Nepal are as happy as the ones we met. Over 100,000 are child slaves. These poor children are in hazardous situations. They are extremely vulnerable and often suffer from physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Child Rescue Nepal rescue children, keep them safe and reunite them with their families.
Child Rescue Nepal has rescued 750 children.... what if I simply run the London Marathon and you kindly support me, can we free a child? Let’s find out. It can’t happen without your help..... PLEASE sponsor me.
I have cycled to Barcelona, cycled to Brussels but I love running and have always dreamt of running a marathon, ten years ago I got injured just before my first marathon... it is a challenge that has niggled at me and when I was offered a place to run for this fantastic cause it was a challenge I couldn’t turn down. Please help me along the way and support me and the children of Nepal. (You should really visit too, it is the most gorgeous country).
I will post updates and training runs to show my progress. I really hope to run a good time (mainly as it’s therefore over quicker!)
Thank you for your support!
Matt
