On Saturday 1st August I will be taking part in the Brompton World Championship which, takes place around St. James Park in London.

This unique event takes the form of a Le Mans style start as 575 smartly dressed (no Lycra allowed) competitors from around the world make a mad dash to unfold their bikes before cycling 10 miles around St. James Park.

Whilst it is not a great distance I figured it is a good excuse to raise a bit of money for Mind - the mental health charity.

This year they are PPLs chosen charity of the year.  Mind offer a great service to people struggling with mental health issues and are a charity I have personally used in the past to get through difficult times.

If you are free on Saturday 1st August and can get to London, please do come and watch the event. It starts at 5pm and will be very entertaining.

I will be on my trusty Orange Brompton which I use every day to commute to work.  But I've never been on it with a suit before!
