This April I am setting off to volunteer in a children's refuge in a shanty town outside Lima. Project Peru is a totally voluntary charity, which offers a sanctuary to children in need of food, shelter and education. Nearly half of the population here live in extreme poverty.

I am doing this as part of my gap year, aiming to improve my Spanish, experience new cultures, and most importantly help people! I will be living in the refuge, and assisting with day-to-day activities and lessons.

In the next couple of months I will organise numerous events and challenges. These will include sponsored treks (in the UK and South America), raffles, car washes, craft/ cake sales etc. 

I am expected to raise at least £1000 as my contribution. 100% OF THIS MONEY GOES TO PROJECT PERU. My travel expenses and accommodation are not included. Please help by donating as much as you can spare!
