Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page, where we are aiming to raise £1,696 for a Malnourished Kids Project in , run by RIPPLE .
This project is important to us because in October/November, we (Marjaana and Peter) will personally be travelling to to visit RIPPLE and learn about the work they are doing, and to help raise awareness of funds for this important project. Please support our efforts and make a difference to the children in who are most vulnerable. We will make sure to send you photos and stories from the grassroots of where the money goes!
About RIPPLE Africa and the Project:
RIPPLE Africa is a registered charity which works in northern in the areas of education, the environment, and healthcare. Projects include everything from running nursery schools, primary schools, a secondary school, a community library, tree-planting, fruit trees, fuel efficient cooking stoves, bee-keeping, agricultural projects, two health clinics and more. The Malnourished Kids Project is a brand new project which specifically targets children under the age of 5 who are malnourished, particularly those who are drastically underweight due to a lack of protein in their diet. All children under 5 are monitored at a monthly health clinic, however at present there is no answer for those children who are measured to be below a healthy weight. This new project provides the money to grow and buy the food necessary to make a special porridge consisting of maize flour (carbohydrates) vegetable oil (fats), bean flour (protein) and sugar and salt, which makes sure that underweight children have everything they need to gain the weight and muscle that is critical to their health.
Thank you very much!
