Malyssa's Thames Swim!!
Fundraising for Thames Reach
Hey all,
My Thames swim has now changed dates and will take place on Saturday 4th September 2010!!!
Hey people!
I can’t believe I’ve committed to this but on 1st August I will be swimming 3,219m (that’s TWO miles!!) down the river Thames in aid of Thames Reach. Thames Reach helps homeless and vulnerable people to find decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. It’s a London-based charity whose ultimate goal is to end street homelessness, which I hope you’ll agree is a really worthy cause. The company I work for, Backstop, holds the welfare of young people close to its heart and as such has very kindly agreed to MATCH the highest individual donation (so dig deep!) It’s only just sunk in just how far it’s going to be without stopping or touching the bottom but I’ve started my training (I sank like a stone after 8 lengths during the first session) and will be closing my eyes and thinking of England on the day (and a hot shower), with my wetsuit and tetanus jab and just going for it! All I’m asking from you lovely people is to sponsor me – from a penny to a £1000 (hehe), it’s all gratefully received and every little really does help. Details of how to sponsor are below. Thank you! Malyssa
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
