We support patients and their loved ones to live well and make every moment count.

Story

This year we are taking part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 29th May 2016 in aid of Strathcarron Hospice. The Hospice's vision is to provide specialist care, comfort and support for anyone affected by a terminal illness including cancer, respiratory, heart and neurological diseases for the people of Forth Valley.  They are a charity and their services are provided in people's own homes, hospital, care homes and in the Hospice itself in Denny.

We decided to do the half marathon last July as we wanted to get fit, raise money for charity and achieve a goal we both shared.  Our journey quickly changed when I was given a terminal diagnosis of secondary breast cancer in September 2015 at the age of 26.

I was told by my consultant that I was the youngest terminal breast cancer patient they had seen in a while.  Even though I was told this devastating news I have always wanted my life to go on as normal as possible and I have continued to plan all the things I would have done if this hadn't been the case.

I have been sharing my story to raise awareness and help others that have been given a terminal diagnosis and to show them I'm on a mission to survive as long as possible.

We can't wait to take part in the run together and make it a great memory, while raising money for this brilliant charity.

Thanks in advance.
