I have worked in mental health for all of my career and now I head into the last year I wanted to do something to mark the occasion. I have agreed to be a trustee for a new charity "The Space" in Cheddar as I believe passionately there should be support for young people and their mental health. I have a year left at work and one day happened to realise there were 365 friends on my face book page (it just popped up!) This got me thinking and I set myself a challenge to connect up and have a coffee/virtual meeting as I have so missed my friends! For every catch up, I would put a £1 in the pot therefore giving me £365 to donate to "The Space" at the end of my working career. My friends seem up for it and have been asked to match fund which they seem happy to do. I will keep a diary and ask them two questions what should I do in retirement and what do I need to do to look after my mental health. I thought it would be fun whilst raising the charities profile!
