Story
In Destination Judo we've always tried to do our bit for charity. In the last few years, we've scaled the heights of Kilimanjaro, cycled over the Andes and trekked over the Arctic - all for a range of good causes.
This will be our toughest challenge yet. I will be part of a small team braving altitude, feezing cold and dizzying heights, trekking over the Himalayas to reach Base Camp, Mount Everest. The expedition will take us 3 weeks as we have to travel significant distances, climbing up and descending again, to cope with altitude. All 4 of us are funding our own trip so that every single penny we raise will go to our chosen charity.
That Charity is the Harmeny Learning for Life Appeal. Harmeny School, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, is an inspirational charity which provides sector leading residential care and education to some of Scotland's most vulnerable children. They urgently need to provide improved learning facilities and accommodation to meet the increasing demand for their services and are aiming to raise £2.4m. We want to help them do that.
The children of Destination Judo will be supporting the team by carrying out the 'Neverest Challenge' - how many up and down judo moves can you do in 3 minutes, without stopping, to the tune of We Will Rock You?
If you would like to sponsor me and the team directly you can do so here.
Thank you very much for your support and wish us luck!!
