I have always wanted to take part in the London Marathon. You might wonder why? Putting yourself through the pain of running 26 miles!! It's a personal achievement; so whether I run it, walk it or limp through the finishing line, I am determined to complete it.

I wanted to run for a charity that meant a lot to me. Sparks is an amazing charity investing in research in medical conditions affecting babies and children. Becoming a mum last year made me more aware of these conditions. I feel very fortunate to have given birth to a beautiful and healthy baby but I also know that not everybody has had this chance.

More recently a family friend lost their 12 year old daughter to bone cancer. This has moved me profoundly and I hope that by completing the marathon and raising as much money as possible I can give something back.
