-          Every minute an area of Amazon rainforest larger than 3 football pitches is lost

-          The Amazon is home to around a tenth of the entire world’s known plants and animals, including endangered   special like jaguars

-          Deforestation is responsible for around 15% of the world’s total greenhouse gas emissions.  That’s more than all the worlds’ cars, planes, trains and ships put together!
