Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In December 2012 my friends son, Sacha, died suddenly from a brain tumour. He was 2 years old. Their world stopped spinning - but not their compassion for others. With the help of World Child Cancer they set up the Sacha Gauci Remembrance Fund to support a project in Malawi that provides curative and palliative treatment for children with cancer.
Since 2nd June 2013, Sacha's family and friends have run and walked over 1000km for Sacha in what would have been his 4th year. I am joining the party a little late and am not quite on brand given that I am throwing swimming and cycling into the mix too, but hey-ho…
A little goes a long way when helping children with cancer in Malawi. Here are some examples of how your donation can make a very real difference:
£6 buys pain relief drugs for one child with cancer
£30 buys life-saving chemo drugs for one child with Burkitts lymphoma
£154 provides nursing care for 10 children for a month
£308 pays for awareness raising posters to encourage increased referral and earlier diagnosis
£926 provides specialist training for a week for 10 healthcare professionals
